What will you learn?

The learners will be able to understand the importance of vocabulary learning and how vocabulary levels in primary predicts outcomes of GCSEs more than any other measure. They will learn how to choose the right vocabulary to teach at each Key Stage, have a bank of ideas of how to teach vocabulary throughout the day and how to pick out and work with children that have particular issues with vocabulary learning.

Lorraine is a specialist speech and language therapist with almost 20 years experience. She has worked in a variety of settings such as community clinics, sure start children’s centres and both special and mainstream schools. She currently works part-time alongside her Mable role in a specialist centre for children with severe speech sound disorder and developmental language disorder. She is passionate about evidence based practice and ensuring that all children receiving speech therapy are accessing the best available intervention.
